Munich musician Saguru initially drew his inspiration from the likes of Alex Turner and Bon Iver. With the combination of guitar, bright vocals and soft yet powerful electronica, he has developed his very own sound. Though at times dark and melancholic, his songs also carry a sense of optimism, clarity and lightness.

Saguru, whose real name is Chris Rappel and who started his solo career in 2016, writes songs that hold great breadth.  With a voice that belies his young age, he sings of breaking routines, learning to deal with ever increasing alienation, moods in limbo, the vastness, running as a form of escape; the early-morning mist rising from the forest; the light, autumn, depth.
