Accessibility Statement
The Gasteig aims to make its online services accessible to people with disabilities and special needs in accordance with the Bavarian E-Government Ordinance (BayEGovV). This Accessibility Statement applies to the website www.gasteig.de.
Preparation of this Accessibility Statement
This Statement was first issued on 7 June 2023
This Statement was last reviewed on 7 November 2023
The following methodology was used for the review: Internal test and assessment by external service provider
Compliance with requirements
The accessibility requirements are laid out in Paras. 3(1) to (4) of the German Accessible Information Technology Ordinance (BITV 2.0), which was enacted on the basis of Para. 12d of the German Equality for Persons with Disabilities Act (BGG).
The accessibility of the Gasteig website at www.gasteig.de is based on internal testing and the assessment of a selection of pages of the website by the service provider Mindscreen based on BITV 2.0 and the Bavarian E-Government Ordinance (BayEGovV), taking into account the requirements of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1.
The Gasteig website at www.gasteig.de is partially consistent with the BayEGovV. It largely fulfils the requirements of BITV 2.0 as well as the level AA criteria of WCAG 2.1. The contents that do not meet accessibility requirements are listed below. Full implementation is being worked on.
Contents that do not meet accessibility requirements
The content below is not compliant with accessibility requirements due to disproportionate burden under Article 5 of Directive (EU) 2016/2102:
- PDF files are not fully available in an accessibility-compliant format.

Information in simple English
www.gasteig.de is the website of the Gasteig arts centre.
This website has an Accessibility Statement.
This says what we do so that people with special needs can use our website.
Accessibility means that everyone can get everywhere
and use everything without problems.
We want our website to be usable by everyone.
There are laws that say that we have to do this.
And there are “ordinances” that say how we have to do it.
The accessibility statement gives the names of those laws and ordinances.
But this is not in simple English.
The Gasteig wrote the Accessibility Statement on 7 June 2023.
It has last checked the Accessibility Statement on 17 July 2023.
An agency tested the accessibility of the Gasteig website www.gasteig.de.
As far as possible, www.gasteig.de has already been designed
to allow people with special needs to use it without problems.
PDF files on our website are not always accessible
for people with special needs.
PDF is an English abbreviation for: Portable Document Format.
These files can be opened on all computers.
Normally, these files can only be viewed and not changed.
