Career

Gasteig HP8 is in an urban district in the south of Munich – the perfect canvas for us to conjure up plenty of fresh ideas. So, why not come and see for yourself? We are the home for major, renowned cultural institutions and host more than 1000 events every year. In other words, we are creating a cultural and creative hub that is unique across Europe.

In tune with culture in Munich

The Gasteig may be the largest arts centre in Europe, but we still see ourselves as a family. A lot of dedicated people and professional groups work closely together and with us to bring our many events to life and a host of the city’s prestigious cultural institutions have their permanent base here.

This creates an inspiring environment for the Gasteig team to curate and communicate its extensive cultural programme.

The company has three separate departments: facility management, event management and administration for management & finances. The management area also covers the communication and HR departments, as well as several units.

Our ethos

Gasteig Managing Director Max Wagner strongly believes that work should be enjoyable and meaningful – and we put that ethos into practice in a number of ways.

All our staff get regular updates, including via a weekly video podcast, and we hold regular sessions where everyone can share their thoughts and concerns. Here at the Gasteig, we treat each other fairly and considerately. Communication is open and appreciative – and we don’t stand on ceremony. We maintain flat hierarchies and the team is involved in all decisions. Values, strengths and personal development play an important role in the company and our campus@gasteig programme offers staff a wide range of opportunities for personal and professional training.

“We only enjoy going to work if we can have an impact on a small scale as well as a larger one. If we feel appreciated for our strengths, if we can take on responsibility – to the level that we ourselves want to.”
