A new highlight at Tanz den Gasteig: breakdance conquers the Isarphilharmonie. Show your challenging moves and get inspired to try new ones at our Breakdance Battle in the grand concert hall. Everyone is welcome, and you can book your place now.

Take part or just enjoy watching the show

Anyone can take part in the Breakdance Battle, regardless of skill levels, background or language. Dancers can book individually or in groups of three. We will select suitable battle constellations based on the responses we receive. DJ Tc Cut will provide the music, spontaneously adapting to the dancers’ moves and levels. MC for the night are breakdancers and dance teachers Aloun and Thaila from Step2diz. A jury of three (Thirsty J, Bboy Memi & B-Girl Paula) decides who goes through to the semi-finals in the knock-out competition for a chance to enter the finals. Participants will be assessed on the complete package: synchronicity with the music, ease of movement and flow all go to decide the score. The winners will receive prize money, but the whole point is to have fun dancing.

Breakdance conquers the Gasteig HP8

For the first time this year, breakdancing is an Olympic discipline. Reason enough to include this acrobatic street dance at Tanz den Gasteig: In addition to our Breakdance Battle with live audience, there will be various free breakdance workshops for children and adults in the afternoon. And the dancing continues until well after midnight: Following the breakdance battle prize-giving ceremony, the stage of the Isarphilharmonie will turn into a dance floor for the after-show party, complete with DJ Tc Cut.
