In classical circles, the Bach family was long considered the world’s most musical family. Until, that is, the Kanneh-Masons conquered the world’s concert stages and came to be celebrated as “Britain’s most talented family”. The seven brothers and sisters’ parents, who were passionate musicians themselves but never pursued professional careers, imbued their kids with a joy of music without pushing them to excel. In fact, they were themselves surprised by the talent and willpower of their “Glorious Seven”.

Like her brother, the cellist Sheku, Isata appears internationally in concert halls with solo recitals, chamber ensembles and prominent orchestras. “On stage, in conversation and in life, she radiates and sparkles with energy,” in the words of an SWR2 presenter. The dynamic artist released her album Childhood Tales, featuring works by Mozart, Debussy, Dohnány and Schumann, on Decca Classics in 2023. “But talent alone won’t get you very far,” adds Isata. “Success requires a good deal of work, creativity and passion.”
