Modern dance has its origins as a counter-movement to classical ballet. While in classical ballet movements are largely predetermined, in modern dance anything goes. Workshop for children aged 7 to 12 years

Improvisation is a frequently used element in modern dance: Here, you can think up your own movements rather than just doing what the teacher shows you. Another important part of modern dance is floor work, where you learn to move on the floor dancing.

What will we do in the workshop?

The first part of the session is a warm-up, where we prepare our bodies for dancing. Then we do a floor exercise to explore what it feels like to dance and move on the floor. Finally, we will rehearse a choreography.

What should you bring with you?

Loose, comfortable clothes, for example leggings and a T-shirt, as well as socks and a water bottle.

The workshop is led by Sabrina Neumann.

Duration: until 5 PM
