Here’s your last chance to experience Martin Grubinger live on stage. In a series of farewell concerts, the world-class percussionist will fire up audiences in Munich one last time before retiring from his stage career.

One can’t help but be amazed when watching the percussionist in his element. Born and raised in Salzburg, Grubinger has been regarded as one of the world’s best in his oeuvre for some time now. With his artistry, his love of experimentation and his commitment to various concert formats and means of communication, he has put a refreshing new focus on percussion in its many manifestations. And his virtuosity on his instruments is truly amazing.

His Percussive Planet Ensemble gathers the cream of percussionists together into a plethora of voices – a sizeable forum of countless individuals who have plenty to say. Each musician contributes a range of instruments and timbres. Classical percussion, xylophones and various timpani are just a few of the better-known of the several hundred percussive instruments that make up the ensemble. They are joined by a big band with a large brass section as well as keyboard, piano and rhythm section.
