“A piano recital that proves that Trifonov is in a league of his own: technical problems are anathema to him. This man plays the piano incredibly well. Colours, structures, sequences, nuances: it’s all there. “Majestic” would be an understatement, because Trifonov also takes risks. Constantly. He needs the risk. And at the same time he has a wide horizon, penetrates this music spiritually and emotionally. And not least, he has a magnetic charisma: When he sits, crouched, at the piano, twisting, almost jumping in the air, there is nothing feigned about it – it seems perfectly genuine. This man runs on adrenaline. And he can transmit it: the audience cheers.”
