Update

Most of the 40 time slots (45 minutes) have now been allocated, but we have opened a waiting list.  If you send us an email to add your name to this list, you will also be informed in good time about the next round of “The stage is yours!”.

How it works

Please sign up with details of your name, address, phone number, the time you would like to perform (with alternatives if possible) and a detailed description of what you want to do on stage (who and how many, what equipment will you bring and what will happen?) at mitmachen@gasteig.de. We will send more details with the registration confirmation.

What does my performance at the Isarphilharmonie cost?

As “room rental”, we ask for a contribution of your choice to a cause that is close to our heart. Since 2021, the Gasteig has supported Music Connects e. V. – an association that offers new perspectives to refugees in northern Uganda through music lessons and concerts. You can find more information about this project at musicconnects.world.

About the idea

The idea of giving the stage of a large hall to individuals on an hourly basis originated in Finland. Pekka Kauranen, executive director of the Musiikkitalo cultural center in Helsinki, was approached by a visitor about practicing in the concert hall during the pandemic. Kauranen turned it into a concept for many interested parties. “We had a great response, we hardly advertised and still had a huge crowd,” says the Finnish cultural manager. “Everyone was excited about the idea. It created a buzz all over the country. Many people had probably sat in the audience beforehand and wished they could perform on the big stage like the stars one day.”
