December can be dark and gloomy. All the more reason to enjoy the company of others in a warm atmosphere, with sparkling lights and immersed in the sounds and scents of Christmas.

Gemeinsam im Advent – Spending Advent Together

The Gasteig welcomes you every day from 7 AM to 11 PM. Just drop in for some handicrafts or singing. Or simply enjoy the bright, friendly atmosphere of Hall E, have a coffee in the GAiA Deli & News and peruse the books and magazines or take advantage of our free internet access. In peace, but not alone.

Our Gasteig HP8 Advent calendar will shorten the wait until Christmas. From 1 to 24 December, there will be a daily mini quiz on our Instagram account. The correct answer creates a four-digit numerical code, that opens a locker in Hall E. In it it, a beautiful gift awaits every day.

On Saturday, 16 December, we are teaming up with the Munich Public Library to spend the afternoon together under the motto Spending Advent Together. Take part in any of a range of different, guided craft activities, listen to live seasonal music or tales from storytellers, and enjoy biscuits and punch. And best of all: it’s absolutely free. Just drop in and enjoy.

Together for others

As in previous years, the Munich Public Library and Malteser are organising a Wishing Tree, where you can bring seasonal joy to people in need with small gifts. Just pick a star and fulfil the wish that is written on it. The Wishing Tree will adorn in the Generator on the first floor of Hall E from 18 November.

Shared experiences

Of course, that’s not all the Gasteig has to offer in the run-up to Christmas: Festive concerts, readings and more present the perfect opportunity for escaping the hustle and bustle of everyday life for a while. They also make the ideal gift.
