HP8 studio artists show their work

From 1 December 2023 to 31 January 2024, works by the artist Martina Kändler will be shown in Hall E. The exhibited works are from the photographic series “transition IV/V/VI” (photography, pigment print, 84 x 119 cm each).

In her photographic series, Martina Kändler stages models of a fictional reality. She translates her exploration of glacial landscapes and their transformations into built structures, which she arranges either in natural outdoor spaces or in her studio. Utopian and dystopian ideas overlap to form hypotheses that, according to Professor Lars Blunck, “hint at space, but leave it so undefined that the allusions are overwritten with mental additions, perhaps even memories.”

Martina Kändler studied fine art at the Academy of Fine Arts in Nuremberg. She was born in Bavaria and lives and works in Munich. She has had her studio on the HP8 site since 2008.
