The Gasteig HP8 now has its very own self-service bike repair station. Located at the bike parking spaces outside the Gasteig HP8, you will find all you need there to get your bicycle up and running again. There’s a tyre pump that fits all valve types as well as various screwdrivers, spanners and tyre levers. The rugged station also boasts a bracket for hanging the bike at a convenient height to make repairs. So whether your tyres need pumping up or a screw needs tightening, you’ll find the required tools here.

Equipment:

  • Cross-head screwdriver
  • Slotted screwdriver
  • Torx screwdrivers T9 | T10 | T15 | T20 | T25 | T27 | T30 | T40
  • Adjustable open-end spanner
  • Double open-end spanner 8 x 10 mm
  • Double open-end spanner 13 x 15 mm
  • Hexagon socket set 2–8 mm
  • Tyre lever
  • Tyre pump incl. steel hose and stainless steel pump piston with adapters for all valve types

The new service station was made possible by the HP8 site’s landlord Stadtwerke München (SWM), which sponsors joint projects with the Gasteig. In recognition of this collaboration, and due to its proximity to the combined heat and power plant across the street, the square outside the listed Hall E has been named “Am Kulturkraftwerk” (at the cultural power station). After all, energy plays a key role on both sides of the Brudermühlstraße: for arts and culture, for people, and now also for bicycles.

A final note: When you’re done repairing your bike, remember to carefully close the service station again. Bon voyage!
