Guided tours for individuals

The new location of the Gasteig HP8 offers an impressive symbiosis of old and new in a vibrant neighbourhood. Take a guided tour with Stattreisen e. V. and see the new cultural powerhouse in Sendling for yourself. Situated in an exciting part of town and housed in extraordinary architectural gems, our interim location offers a platform for new arts education formats and collaborations. On a tour of the listed Hall E and the Isarphilharmonie, newly built in record time, you’ll find out all about the new opportunities Europe’s largest arts centre has gained with its temporary move.

 

Stattreisen e. V., in cooperation with Gasteig München GmbH, offers regular guided tours for anyone interested in a behind-the-scenes look.

  • Duration: approx. 1.5–2 hours
  • Cost: € 15; concessions € 13
  • Meeting point: Gasteig HP8, information and ticket counter in Hall E
  • Languages: German; other languages possible for an additional charge
  • Registration: is preferred; you can find out more here (in German)

Note: Due to events taking place, it may not always be possible see all of the rooms.

Guided tours for groups

Members of the Gasteig team take groups on a guided tour of the buildings and grounds. The tour includes a walk through the listed Hall E – an industrial building dating from 1926 – and an extensive look at the new Isarphilharmonie with its special atmosphere and outstanding acoustics.

 

You will get lots of information and hear anecdotes about the history of the Gasteig HP8 and the redevelopment of Hall E. You’ll also find out more about the Gasteig institutes and the events business. Although architecture and acoustics are not a focus of the tour, they will also be touched upon. Guided tours for children are also possible on request, please contact us!

  • Duration: approx. 1 to 1.5 hours
  • Group size: up to 20 people
  • Cost: € 150 incl. VAT (with invoice)
  • Meeting point: Gasteig HP8, information and ticket counter in Hall E
  • Languages: German, English and Dutch are available
  • Dates: By arrangement from Monday to Friday, taking into account the availability of the Isarphilharmonie

The Munich Public Library regularly offers free tours of Hall E and its Open Library.
