Sicilian singer-songwriter Pippo Pollina will bring a very special project to the stage in 2025. Together with the Swiss Youth Symphony Orchestra, he will perform his musical repertoire spanning more than 40 years in a very special setting.

Sicilian singer-songwriter Pippo Pollina will bring a very special project to the stage in 2025. Together with the Swiss Youth Symphony Orchestra, he will perform his musical repertoire spanning more than 40 years in a very special setting.

Supported by various Swiss foundations, Pollina’s project merges different styles and genres of the 20th century. Influences of Béla Bartók, the Latin American colourings of Astor Piazzolla and the epic narrative of Italian composer Ennio Morricone will be discernible in the performances.

 

Conducted by the Swiss-French maestro David Bruchez and with orchestral arrangements by Massimiliano Matesic and Juan Esteban Cuacci, the Swiss Youth Symphony Orchestra becomes the perfect vehicle for reinterpreting Pollina’s varied repertoire.
