The arias, duets and overtures from opera classics such as Nabucco, Aida and Il trovatore hold passion and emotion aplenty. Wherever Italianità triumphs, high art is inevitable, with Italian music apparently being a natural phenomenon.

To this day, Giuseppe Verdi holds the undisputed status of Italy’s most important composer. No other composer’s work has both embodied and left its footprint on the country’s historical self-image like that of the grand master of 19th century Italian opera. “Via Giuseppe Verdi” is, in any case, presumably Italy’s most common street name.

Programme

Arias, duets and overtures by Giuseppe Verdi from La traviata, Aida, Nabucco, Don Carlo, La forza del destino, Rigoletto, Il trovatore and others.
