An Evening of Tchaikovsky with the Munich Symphony Orchestra and Maria Ioudenitch.

Born in Balashov, Russia and raised in Kansas City, USA, the young violinist received First Prizes at the Ysaÿe International Music Competition, the Tibor Varga International Violin Competition and the Joseph Joachim International Violin Competition Hanover in 2021. The last of these included a contract with Warner Classics.

The evening’s conductor will be the Munich Symphony Orchestra’s new Artist in Residence for 2022/23, Nodoka Okisawa. Since 2020, the Japanese conductor is a fellow at the Karajan Academy of the Berlin Philharmonic and assistant to Kirill Petrenko. “I see myself as a colleague of the fellows rather than a conductor who tells the others what to do. We learn from and inspire each other. I love to feel this sense of unity – with the music and with the musicians,” says Okisawa. “I look forward to exploring the depths and creativity of art together with the Munich Symphony Orchestra and the audience.”
