Li Yundi, also known under the mononym Yundi, is an acclaimed Chinese pianist. He rose to prominence aged 18, when he became the youngest pianist to win first place at the 2000 International Chopin Competition. In 2015, he became the youngest jury member to date of this prestigious competition.

About Li Yundi

Yundi, winner of the International Chopin Piano Competition, became the youngest champion and jury member in the competition’s history and the first Chinese to win the event. He is the first pianist from China to sign with Deutsche Grammophon, the world’s largest classical music company, and the first Chinese pianist to have released a live recording with the Berliner Philharmoniker.   On his regular concert tours, Yundi performs in international concert halls, such as New York’s Carnegie Hall, the Royal Festival Hall in London, the Musikverein Vienna and the Salle Pleyel in Paris. Orchestras and conductors he has worked with include the Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra with Riccardo Chailly, the Mahler Chamber Orchestra with Daniel Harding, the Rotterdam Philharmonic with Yannick Nézet-Séguin, the Philharmonia Orchestra with Andrew Davis, the Mariinsky Orchestra with Valery Gergiev and the Israel Philharmonic with Gustavo Dudamel.
