The exhibition ZOON presents works by artists who subtly reflect on the relationship between humans and animals. On show are works by Alexandra Vogt, Christine Prantauer, Valentina Pino Reyes, Lisa Endriß and bankleer.

Stage-like productions examine empathetic relationships with individual animals and highlight the position and function of animals within the logic of exploitation of our globalised economy. The artists’ metaphorical explorations in their differentiating depictions reveal fantasies and humanising attributions associated with the animal world. They conjure up alternative worlds, mythological interpretations, imagined bodies and characteristics constructed both in coexistence with domesticated animals and through observation of animals in the wild or exhibited in zoos.
