The Gasteig HP8 received yet another architecture award today. The architecture of the Gasteig’s interim premises in Munich’s Sendling district was awarded the 2025 Bauen im Bestand (Building in Existing Contexts) prize, which is awarded by the Bavarian Chamber of Architects. This prize honours projects that represent an outstanding contribution to architecture by redeveloping buildings that are worthy of preservation with architectural means that take the building’s historic context and value into account.
Three of the 194 projects submitted received an award, each with buildings from different eras. The Gasteig HP8 with its listed Hall E and the Isarphilharmonie received the award in the category “Buildings from 1900 to 1945”.
