Backstage: Musician Christian Löffler

With his melodic techno sound and immersive live performances, German producer and artist Christian Löffler stands out in the electronic music scene. His sold-out concerts around the world are experiences that meld club culture and chamber music. The mix of field recordings and analogue warmth makes for a wholly immersive atmosphere: at times euphoric, at times still but always laden with emotion.

Do you have a special ritual before a performance?

Drinking a glass of wine with the team, listening to music and watching pointless videos on a mobile phone together.

Nervous wreck or the life of the party?

As a rule, I no longer allow myself to be nervous. I have too much fun on stage for that and I really enjoy the time with the audience.

What should definitely always be available backstage?

Friends and white wine.

Final applause, off the stage – and then what? What’s the first thing you do after a performance?

Take a drink of water, change my T-shirt, meet the fans, pack my stuff and head for a bar with the team.

Who would you like to perform with and why?

With rapper Juice Wrld, who has sadly already passed away. His music still touches me deeply, and I’d relish bringing the two genres together.
