Locations & Directions

The Gasteig and the Isar river have always been close neighbours, and that’s still the case at our temporary premises. The Gasteig HP8 is easy to reach by both public transport and car. But by far the most picturesque approach is the cycle path along the river.

How to get there

There are many ways to reach the Gasteig. From the city centre, you can get there in just 15 minutes by underground or bus. If you are about to visit an event at the Isarphilharmonie and come by car, use the car park of the adjacent wholesale flower market (Blumengroßmarkt) near Mittlerer Ring and take the shuttle bus to the Gasteig HP8. Better still, come by bike and take advantage of our generous bicycle parking spaces.

Please note: Due to the modernisation of the underground station Sendlinger Tor, restrictions on the U3 line are possible. You may need to plan for a longer journey. For an up-to-date timetable and service interruptions, visit mvg.de

Public transport journey planner

The most pleasant way to get to the Gasteig is the cycle path along the Isar river. Once you reach the Brudermühlbrücke bridge, you’ll see the chimneys of the Heizkraftwerk Süd power station, which is right opposite the Gasteig HP8.

There are 200 parking spaces for bicycles outside Hall E. And before your return journey, you can fill up with food and drink at the GAiA restaurant.

Car parking at HP8 is limited. There are no visitor parking spaces on site. When attending an event at the Isarphilharmonie you can park nearby in the Gasteig car park at the Blumengroßmarkt and take the MVG bus no. 97, which takes you to the Gasteig HP8 in just a few minutes. You will find the timetables linked below.

Blumengroßmarkt car park
From two hours before an event at the Isarphilharmonie until 1 AM, 200 parking spaces are available in the car park of the flower wholesale market. The charge is € 10 for the first four hours plus € 3.50 for each additional hour or part thereof.
