Kisoboka – Everything Is Possible Activity DayIntercultural Music Project & Attacca Festival Concert
Information about the festival
The collaborative Kisoboka – Everything Is Possible project brings together young musicians from Uganda and Germany.
The event’s highlight is the joint concert by the brass musicians of Brass for Africa – comprising teachers from the Lab Uganda (Music Connects) project – and Attacca, the Bavarian State Opera’s youth orchestra.
“Kisoboka” – meaning “everything is possible” in the Luganda language – represents both an artistic statement and an attitude. In concerto grosso form, music becomes a dialogue – between soloists and orchestra, between continents and musical languages, between different educational contexts. The symphonic sound of a European youth orchestra meets the rhythmic, emotional expressiveness of African wind ensembles – on equal terms and in a vivid exchange.
Before the concert, there will be a varied programme of events including workshops, a photography exhibition, a film screening and performances by pupils. Get to know rhythms from Uganda, experience music education through moving images, and chat with the artists.
In collaboration with Music Connects Lab Uganda and Gasteig München GmbH, and with the kind support of the Goethe-Institut and the Foreign Ministry.
