Information about the festival
The Gasteig has been committed to bringing culture and the arts to wonderful Munich audiences for 40 years now. To mark the occasion, the Gasteig HP8 is holding a festival with surprise participatory events.
To mark the anniversary of Europe’s largest arts centre, the Gasteig’s resident institutes will put on an exciting and varied programme of music, dance, theatre, games – and cake! Join in the celebration, which will take place from 5 to 9 PM, and look over the shoulder of an orchestra in action, take part in our pub quiz or tell us your own personal stories about the Gasteig. Admission is free.
The four-hour program will be hosted by Hülya Weller and Şahika Tetik – both are improvisational actresses and co-hosts of the podcast Çay mal ehrlich.
Hülya Weller is a cultural scientist and currently heads the Caretaria. Şahika Tetik is studied media and communications management and is a public relations officer at the Munich Kammerspiele theatre.
The events are partly interpreted into sign language; this is indicated. From 5 PM to 7 PM, a sign language interpreter will be available at the information booth in Hall E.
This event is organised by Gasteig München GmbH as part of gasteigXchange, the joint cultural education programme of the Munich Public Library, Münchner Volkshochschule adult education centre, Munich Philharmonic, Munich University of Music and Theatre, Munich Chamber Orchestra and Gasteig München GmbH.
