Information about the festival
For the 16th time, the African Film Festival Munich is presenting impressive images, moving stories and multi-faceted viewpoints, this time from Nigeria, South Africa, Tunisia, Guinea, Senegal and Rwanda.
Taking place annually at the Gasteig since 2011, the festival aims at initiating and promoting cultural exchange in order to further peaceful coexistence.
Offering insights into the realities of life in Africa, the festival challenges and breaks down stereotypes to strengthen cultural diversity in everyday life. This makes the African Film Festival an ideal platform for fostering peaceful, diverse coexistence in Munich.
The programme consists mainly of feature films, but also includes documentaries, all by African directors who showcase the diversity of the African continent through films from a wide variety of countries and regions. The films offer insights into current social developments and emerging identities that are currently making their presence felt across the continent.
All films are shown in their original language with English subtitles.
