Information about the festival
The Chinese Film Festival Munich returns for the 13th time, presenting a diverse selection of films from the Chinese-speaking world.
The programme comprises current productions, award-winning documentaries and timeless classics of Chinese cinema. The festival will open with the poetic love story Spring in a Small Town (1948, directed by Fei Mu). Highlights include As the River Goes By and Like a Rolling Stone – two award-winning films about the continuing ripples of the past and about facing new beginnings with courage. Around 16 films of various genres will be shown, both online and on site.
All films are shown in their original version with English subtitles.
In cooperation with the Munich Public Library, the China Film Archive, Écrans de Chine and the Shanghai Art Film Animation Studio. The venues are the Gasteig HP8, Kino Breitwand Gauting, the Neues Rottmann cinema and, for the first time, the Mathäser Filmpalast.
