Yuja Wang caused a sensation in February 2024 when she scooped one of the world’s most coveted music awards with a Grammy in the Best Classical Instrumental Solo category for her performance of The American Project. Known for her virtuosity and her spontaneous, animate performances, Yuja captivates with her charismatic artistry, emotional honesty and commanding stage presence.
Víkingur Ólafsson impresses with his remarkable combination of superior musical skill and visionary repertoire. The Süddeutsche Zeitung described the Icelandic pianist’s last guest performance at the Prinzregenten Theater as a “pianistic frenzy”. At the two pianists’ hands, Rachmaninoff’s Symphonic Dances in a version for two pianos and works by composers ranging from Franz Schubert to Dave Brubeck promise an even greater frenzy of sound.
