Varvara Manukyan, a specialist in historical performance practice, and Helmut Balk, Director of the Greifenberg Institute of Organology, will open the Beethoven Year by performing works on a scientifically reconstructed fortepiano from the Institute’s research collection.

Alongside selected passages from Friedrich Hölderlin’s Hyperion (1797), the audience is given the wonderful, rare opportunity to experience music and literature within their historical context.
