The soundtrack, composed by musical greats Harold Faltermeyer, Hans Zimmer, Lady Gaga and Lorne Balfe, breathes new life into the musical legacy of 1986. The full force of the film’s score draws the audience right into the cockpit as Maverick – played by Tom Cruise – and pushes the boundaries of what is possible in thrilling flight sequences, allowing every emotion to be experienced up close.
When asked, “Is that even possible?”, Pete “Maverick” Mitchell replied confidently in 2022: “The answer lies solely with the captain in the cockpit.” Elite Navy pilot Maverick once again faces major challenges, this time alongside the self-assured Natasha “Phoenix” Trace.
