The jazz trumpeter, composer, producer and arranger Till Brönner is one of Europe’s best-known and most successful jazz musicians. With his new album, Italia, he immerses himself in the 1960s to early 1980s, a time when Italian music characterised the sound of Europe and a collective attitude to life.

Virtuosic and with casual elegance, Till Brönner creates an inimitable sound that combines jazz with mainstream and high culture with pop aesthetics. A multi-talented musician, he experiments and crosses boundaries without losing sight of his roots.

His new album, Italia, is a tribute to Italian pop culture as well as a journey back in time to his own childhood, which he spent for the most part in Rome – a city that shaped his outlook on life. The album contains many well-known hits – classics by Lucio Battisti, Paolo Conte and Tony Renis – as well as surprises and rarities from the annals of Italian pop. Songs by great cantautori, iconic film music and Brönner’s own compositions round off the track list.

If you have ever witnessed Brönner live, you will be familiar with the atmosphere that he creates with his trumpet – approachable, authentic, passionate. With Italia, Till Brönner returns to his early childhood in Rome in the 1970s. The Mediterranean country’s spirit of life, cuisine and long musical heritage have left their mark on him. On stage, he presents unforgettable songs by Paolo Conte, Ennio Morricone, Lucio Dalla and Louis Prima in typical Brönner style. He will be joined by a surprise guest.
