Hans Zimmer has achieved the seemingly impossible: Though working behind the scenes in Hollywood for decades, far from the public eye, the German composer has achieved rock-star fame. His outstanding soundtracks played their part in turning many a movie into a blockbuster: from The Lion King and Gladiator to Interstellar and Dune. Only one other living film composer matches Zimmer in fame: the great John Williams. Nominated for an incredible 54 Oscars, the US American has won the award five times, including for what is arguably the most famous melody in film history: his fanfare for Star Wars. These two composers have created scores of outstanding music that is familiar to all and everyone, that elicits memories and nostalgia in film buffs and has the power to arouse emotions even without moving images.

No wonder, then, that The Sound of Hans Zimmer & John Williams has been a crowd-puller for years and sells out auditoriums across Germany. Now the project is entering its next round with a new programme comprising new musical highlights, orchestral might and nostalgic flair that brings film history to the concert stage.
