The latest tonal results of the research for “Organon” deal with rock’n’roll, racism and time travel. This concert played on extraordinary instruments is the finale to the Sound of Mind concert series.

This musically inspired, fictitious story of rock’n’roll spans 70,000 years and starts when Homo sapiens and his music conquered the world. The playing involves time travel and uses real and invented instruments, plays all forms of music, remembered in dreams.

This is a friendly competition – after all musicians have always sparred with each other to see who can play fastest, who can hold a note the longest, who can complete a certain phrase. As part of the concert series, the band from Unity Too has blended this spirit of friendly competition into the fourth and final concert this season.

Part of the programme was composed specially for Sound of Mind and an exotic array of instruments – carnyx, glissotar, Tibetan horn, conch shell horn and alphorn.

The band will also improvise on the themes of “Organon”, with percussion and keyboards.

The Band

  • John Kenny – trombone, carnyx, alphorn
  • Etienne Rolin – glissotar, bansuri, electric guitar
  • Robyn Blair – French horn, conch shell horn, alphorn
  • Michael Wehmeyer – keyboards
  • Peter Jacquemyn – bass, Tibetan horn, vocals
  • Udo Schindler – saxophones, tubax, electric guitar
  • Michael “Bidi” Setz – drums, percussion
  • Carlton Bunce – lyrics & visuals
