Though a humble Indian, Sister Shivani is an internet star with over a billion video views. A memorable personality and, above all, a visionary, she inspires millions of people around the world. Her self-empowerment tour of Europe also takes her to Munich.

Shivani shows how each of us can use the valuable “toolkit of the eight heroic powers” to deal constructively and successfully with all life’s situations and circumstances.

About Sister Shivani

Sister Shivani, a woman in her mid-50s from Delhi, is a phenomenon who defies categorisation. A housewife and IT expert she has been practising the Brahma Kumaris Raja Yoga meditation together with her husband since the mid-1990s. Though she still does not see herself as a star, let alone a guru, she is indeed an international social media star –

a role into which she slipped quite by chance in 2007. It all began when she helped prepare a live interview with a Brahma Kumaris speaker for an Indian television channel in Delhi. When the speaker pulled out at the last minute, the TV presenter asked her to step in. The show’s host was so impressed by her that from then on she was regularly invited to the TV studio for interviews.

The audience’s positive response grew ever stronger over time, until today she has over 12 million followers on social media, is a best-selling author on Amazon, has appeared on over 2000 television programmes and given 5000 talks throughout the world. She has received numerous awards worldwide, including Young Global Leader (World Economic Forum), the Nari Shakti Puraskaar Award (India’s highest honour for women), Goodwill Ambassador (World Psychiatric Association), the Happiness Ambassador Award (UK Parliament) and the Award for Sustainable Development (UNESCO).

Before every talk, Sister Shivani sets aside several hours – not to prepare the topic, but to immerse herself in deep inner stillness. She believes that it is in the stillness that she is best able to give people what helps them most. Leading by example, she puts into practice all that she advises others to do.

This authenticity is clearly evident to all who meet her and seems to give them the strength to follow her example. She does not accept fees or gifts of any kind. For her 2026 European tour, she has even insisted on covering the cost of her flight to Europe out of her own pocket.
