Four-piece band S.A.W. play tracks from their 2023 album Hydragate and selected pieces from Johannes Schmoelling’s time with Tangerine Dream.

On Hydragate, the quartet traverse emotional energies ranging from profound power to serene lightness. The sonic spheres of composed melody lines that echo Johannes Schmoelling’s time spent with Tangerine Dream make S.A.W. an experience not to be missed.

Hydragate was developed in various studios in Munich, Berlin, Mannheim and Hitzacker using samples and analogue drum machines as well as modular and digital synthesizers. From the 1980s to the present, S.A.W. takes you on a journey through electronic music and in a world of singular sounds and images.

S.A.W. are comprised of Johannes Schmoelling (Tangerine Dream from 1979 to 1985), Mannheim-based keyboardist and sound designer Kurt Ader (sound productions for Dream Theater, Night wish, Enigma and others), Berlin-based producer and composer Robert Waters (Loom with Johannes Schmoelling and Jerome Froese) and Munich-based Andreas Merz, synth specialist, founding member of Weltklang and also known for extraordinary visuals.
