With his unrestrainedly powerful performance style, he leaves his unmistakable mark time after time. Celebrated as highly talented at an early age, the Canadian pianist with Polish roots has long since left his days as a child prodigy behind and has joined the ranks of the world’s leading pianists.
Far from resting on his laurels, Lisiecki is constantly taking on new challenges, such as Prokofiev’s haunting Piano Concerto No 2, which was rejected as radical “futurists’ music” at its world premiere (Deutschlandfunk Kultur). Yet the this intense score proved fit for the future – a sentiment that equally applies to its current performer in Munich.
