The internationally acclaimed colouratura soprano Pretty Yende will be performing an exclusive concert at the Isarphilharmonie, accompanied by the Baden-Baden Philharmonic Orchestra under the baton of Spanish conductor Pablo Mielgo. With her outstanding voice, the charismatic Yende will beguile the audience with arias from operas and operettas by Giuseppe Verdi, Vincenzo Bellini, Jacques Offenbach, Johann Strauss and many more.

Born in the small South African town of Piet Retief, soprano Pretty Yende and has catapulted to the top of the opera world at breakneck speed. With her irresistible charm, globally acclaimed opera and solo performances and a critically acclaimed discography, Pretty Yende has quickly become one of the brightest stars in the firmament of classical music. Since her professional opera debut at the Latvian National Theatre in Riga as Micaela in Carmen, she has appeared at most of the world’s renowned opera houses, including the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, the Opéra National de Paris, the Metropolitan Opera in New York, the Teatro alla Scala in Milan, the Deutsche Oper Berlin, the Berlin State Opera, the Bavarian State Opera in Munich, the Zurich Opera House, the Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona and the Vienna State Opera as well as many major concert venues. Pretty Yende has been highly praised by the public and the press alike.

Conductor Pablo Mielgo comes from Madrid but is a global citizen with an entrepreneurial spirit and a mission to make music accessible to all: The agile chief conductor of the Orquestra Simfònica de les Illes Balears (OSIB) and the Symphony of the Americas (SOTA) is engaged by orchestras all over the world. He works in close artistic collaboration with orchestras such as the Simon Bolívar Symphony Orchestra, the Arena di Verona and the Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra as well as with artists such as Juan Diego Flórez, the Labeque sisters, Pierre-Laurent Aimard, Emmanuel Pahud, Midori, Khatia Buniatishvili, Julian Rachlin and Radovan Vlatkovic. Since 2005, he has been the musical and artistic director of the SaludArte Foundation, which aims to foment social change through music. His special commitment is to promoting young talent. Since 2011, the artistic co-director of the Medellin Philharmonic Academy has endeavoured to give young musicians access to musical education regardless of their parents’ income. In the 2025/26 season, he was appointed Music Director of the Florida Grand Opera.
