Pathik started piano lessons at the age of six. At fifteen, he became a private student of Prof. Eliza Hansen in Hamburg, who had studied with teachers including Artur Schnabel and Edwin Fischer, and one year later he joined her masterclass at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in the city. Some years later, he switched to Brazilian pianist Prof. Yara Bernette, a student of Claudio Arrau.

For many years now, he has followed his own path outside the mainstream. He plays chamber music with the Blütenring Ensemble in Munich and gives piano recitals and concerts in and around Munich, Hamburg, Elmau, Berlin, Hanover, Leipzig and Korea. He last played in Korea in September 2019 – at the invitation of KCO Music Director Prof. Min Kim – where he joined musicians from the orchestra to play piano quintets by Dohnányi and Brahms.
