The Orient Express takes you on a trip through space and time into the world of oriental music and dance. Bringing oriental tradition and zeitgeist to life are the Ogaro Ensemble and dancers.
The evening kicks off with a concert by the Ogaro Ensemble. The magical combination of different nationalities creates an inimitable musical connection between the musicians of the Ogaro Ensemble. Founded in 2017 by Syrian oud player Abathar Kmash, the Munich ensemble enchants with its unique music – a blend of traditional and modern pieces from the Eastern Mediterranean and the Balkans. Its influences extend from North Macedonia via the Black Sea to Armenia. Greek Rebetiko and Turkish dance songs are also in the mix. What makes the ensemble special is the diversity of its members’ nationalities.
Part two of the evening serves up oriental dance in all its forms and facets, performed by various dancers and groups.
