New Music, New Directions – Ensemble Polysono Turns 20Jubiläumstournee
Ensemble Polysono has always united people of different generations in its performance projects. And for its anniversary tour, too, younger and older soloists will be joining forces to perform music from composers of different ages. Since its foundation 20 years ago, the ensemble has been performing the works of its founder and director, the Swiss composer René Wohlhauser, side by side with key works of the international avant-garde.

Established in 2007, the Basel-based ensemble Polysono is committed to contemporary music, which it explores and performs with great dedication, placing a particular focus on current Swiss composers.
To mark its 20th anniversary, the ensemble is presenting works by Croatian composer Sara Glojnaric (born 1991) and the Armenian Hovik Sardaryan (born 1993) – both recipients of the Ernst von Siemens Music Foundation’s Composers’ Prize – as well as four world premieres of works by René Wohlhauser, which take the audience into new realms of time and sound.
