“Clearly a star in the making”, writes London’s Pianist Magazine. Born in Naples in 2005 and living in Munich since the age of seven, violinist Andrea Cicalese learnt the violin and graduated from the Pestalozzi Gymnasium in 2023. But his musical career took off much earlier: Aged eleven, he was the youngest student at the Perosi Academy of Music in Biella and has been studying with Josef Rissin at the Karlsruhe University of Music since 2020.
By now, he regularly performs in some of the most renowned concert halls and has already captured the attention of audiences and the press: “The violinist Andrea Cicalese aimed for excellence and technical refinement and knew how to masterfully transform them into passion.” (Süddeutsche Zeitung). At the onset of the pandemic, he launched his YouTube channel, Polyphonix – Classical CD Reviews, which has brought him plenty of attention. He currently performs on a Guarneri del Gesú (Cremona 1731) – an extraordinary, historic instrument, the loan of which was made possible by a cultural and philanthropic initiative: another milestone and a great privilege in his budding career.
