The Munich Philharmonic will take part in the Long Night at HP8 For the first time this year. They will serve up two masterpieces of chamber music: Johann Nepomuk Hummel’s Piano Quintet in E-flat minor and Franz Schubert’s famous Trout Quintet.
With his quintet, Hummel, a celebrated piano virtuoso and composer, created a work full of dramatic contrasts, virtuoso lightness and early Romantic expressiveness. So taken was the young Schubert by this work that he modelled his Trout Quintet on it. So make your way up the Isar to Sendling and experience two absolute classics of music literature at the Gasteig HP8.
