After their formation more than 40 years ago 1985, Mike and The Mechanics have evolved into an impressive, acclaimed live band. Originally conceived by Mike Rutherford as a side project alongside Genesis, the band has released some of the most popular songs of an entire generation, including The Living Years, All I Need Is A Miracle and Over My Shoulder.

After a hiatus from 2005 to 2010, Mike, driven by an insatiable urge to perform and create music, decided to revive the band. He put together an all-new line-up, comprising Andrew Roachford, Tim Howar, Luke Juby, Anthony Drennan and Gary Wallis, who have largely formed the backbone of the Mechanics ever since.

The creative chemistry kicking in shortly after they started playing together, they released The Road and went on tour for the first time in 2011. To date, they have played an impressive 374 concerts together and released three albums, two of which made it into the UK Top 10. Ever since drummer Nic Collins joined the band for their Refuelled! Tour (for Gary Wallis) in 2023, they have delivered phenomenal performances tour after tour.

The Telegraph awarded their most recent performance at the Royal Albert Hall 4 out of 5 stars, writing that they had “brought the house down” and “set the place alight”, whilst the Northern Echo described their performance in Newcastle simply as an “exemplary performance”.

Mike Rutherford says: “When we started talking about this tour, it dawned on me that the core of this line-up is the one who’s been with The Mechanics the longest! The fact that we’re touring again is absolute proof of Roach, Tim, Luke and Anthony’s talent – they’re wonderful musicians and wonderful people, and the way Nic has slotted into the band has not only significantly lowered the average age of the band, but also brings a whole new energy that really rounds the whole thing off! I can’t wait to do it again – to be honest, I don’t think we’d be doing this if it weren’t for these gentlemen; 17 years have flown by! We look forward to seeing you soon.”
