The Bavarian State Orchestra will celebrate its anniversary year with a special premiere: the orchestra will give its first performance in Munich’s latest concert hall, the Isarphilharmonie in HP8.

The orchestra’s Generalmusikdirektor Vladimir Jurowski will conduct two significant works from the late Romantic and early Modern periods: Alban Berg’s Violin Concerto, dedicated “to the memory of an angel” – Alma Mahler-Werfel and Walter Gropius’ daughter, who died at an early age – and Anton Bruckner’s monumental Symphony No 4 in E-flat major, the “Romantic”. Two pinnacles of symphonic composition that do justice to the Bavarian State Orchestra’s centuries-long tradition.

  • Vladimir Jurowski, conductor
  • Renaud Capuçon, violin
