“Beauty can be found everywhere; it all depends on how you look at it. It’s about joy and dreams, and I want every audience member to leave happier than they arrived.”

Jean Paul Gaultier

The Fashion Freak Show premiered at the renowned Folies Bergère in Paris in 2019, and, in an updated and reimagined guise, at London’s West End in the summer of 2021. The Guardian calls it an “extravaganza that’s a lot of fun”, the New York Times “a show of a different kind” – it can’t be pigeonholed and is, above all, one massive party. Now Jean Paul Gaultier is inviting everyone to join the party at the German premiere of his sensational show in Munich.

The famous stylist in the stripy top brings together artists from circus, theatre, music and dance on stage in a truly crazy collection. From his childhood to the beginnings of his career, from his greatest fashion shows to his wild nights at Le Palace or in London: interspersed with video clips and one-act miniatures, Jean Paul Gaultier recounts his experiences, pays tribute to the people who inspired him and reveals as yet unknown tidbits from his love stories and personal life. The extravagant fashion designer will pull his legendary creations out of the wardrobe – such as Madonna’s pink corset with the lacy cups – and once again has a surprise or two in store for us, with hundreds of his new, exclusive outfits incorporated in the lush backdrop.
