The British singer, songwriter, actor, model, mother and style icon Jane Mallory Birkin is a veritable powerhouse of creative energy. Her name is, above all, associated with two things: the song “Je t’aime ... moin non plus”, which she recorded with her then partner Serge Gainsbourg and which was banned by the Vatican; and a ridiculously expensive handbag.

But there is much more to Jane Birkin: the daughter of actress Judy Campbell and Royal Navy lieutenant commander David Birkin, she met the composer John Barry at the age of only 17 and they married four years later. After their separation, while filming in France in 1969 she met the actor, composer and songwriter Serge Gainsbourg, marking the beginning of a world-famous love affair and a relationship that lasted twelve years. Beside her acting career, Jane Birkin worked as a singer with musicians such as Bryan Ferry, Rufus Wainwright, Manu Chao and Kate Bush. Today, the 75-year-old is as active as ever: 2021 saw the release of her latest album entitled “Oh! Pardon tu dormais …”, with which she toured France last year. Now a few dates in select venues in Germany have been added, including at the Isarphilharmonie in March.

  • Étienne Daho and Jean-Louis Piérot, musical direction

Note from MünchenEvent regarding the cancellation:
