Starting with the 2019/2020 concert season, the Bach Collegium München ventured to establish a professional choir of highly talented voice students in cooperation with the three Bavarian universities of music in Munich, Nuremberg and Würzburg to perform the sacred music of the Thomaskantor and other composers. Thus the Chor & Orchester Bach Collegium München was born.

The choir is sponsored by the Münchener Konzertverein e. V. The Gemeinsam gegen Einsamkeit (Together Against Loneliness) campaign was launched on the initiative of the Josef and Luise Kraft Foundation.
