Ten years of Groove Sistaz – Munich’s unique all-female big band presents We Are Family. From jazz and swing to pop and rock, from Balkan and hot Cuban to the Bavarian sounds of home: the Groove Sistaz have been firing up audiences for ten years now.
And they are doing it again: Taking us on a journey through a decade’s worth of band history, the 20 or so amateur musicians play their way through the highs and lows of their ten years together – from their very first concert in a queer community centre to appearances at Christopher Street Day (CSD), the Gasteig, Munich’s Volkstheater and on the streets of Bologna.
Band leader Daniela Steidle’s unique arrangements are guaranteed to get you out of your seat and moving, as the Sistaz take to the stage with their line-up of flute, recorder, clarinet, trumpet, trombone, saxophones of all registers, electric bass, percussion and drums.
