Everyone at Gasteig HP8 who has their photo taken in the mobile Photobooth truck will be part of a work of art

When JR stops off at the Gasteig between 12 PM and 7 PM on 13 September, everyone is invited to come and show their face, have their photo taken and be part of the “Kunst & Kultur für alle” (Art & culture for everyone) project. The poster-sized portraits will be printed out right there on the spot, pasted up in the grounds of Gasteig HP8 and subsequently published on insideoutproject.net.

The project is being held in conjunction with the “JR: Chronicles” exhibition, which runs from 26.08.2022 to 15.01.2023 in the Kunsthalle München. Further information is available at kunsthalle-muc.de

Under-age children visiting the Inside Out project without an adult present must have a consent form completed and signed by their parents if they want to have their photo taken. You can download the consent form here.

About the Inside Out project

“Can art change the world?” That was the question posed by JR in 2011 when he won the TED prize for leaders with creative and courageous ambitions to bring about global change. He used the prize money of $ 100,000 to create Inside Out – a global artistic community project that encourages people to take action themselves.

Individuals and groups decide on a topic that they want to campaign for. They can either book a Photobooth truck or take their own portrait photos and send them to JR’s studio. They are then printed there and sent back to the organisers. All the photos are published on the project website insideoutproject.net. Since 2011, more than 2300 campaigns have raised awareness of local and global topics, including the Black Lives Matter movement, the plight of refugees and climate change around the world.
