The evening opens with Mozart’s Sonata for Two Pianos, a piece from the core repertoire of the First Viennese School. Then on to Schumann, before the two pianists venture into romantic territory, bringing the evening to a close with a celebration of musicality: Dvořák’s Slavonic Dances and Smetana’s brilliant version of Vltava for piano four hands build to a veritable frenzy of sound.

Programme

  • Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart: Sonata for Two Pianos in D major, K 448
  • Robert Schumann: Andante and Variations for two pianos four hands, Op 46
  • Robert Schumann: Pictures from the East, Op 66
  • Bedřich Smetana: Vltava (The Moldau), from Ma Vlast (My Fatherland), original version for piano four hands
  • Anton Dvořák: Slavonic Dances from Op 46 and Op 72

This event is organised by Concerto Winderstein and Bell’Arte.
