In the songs on her latest album, Joelma Marques explores the effects of social media, stress and work pressure on our feelings and thoughts. Her music adopts a reflective and personal perspective, focussing on those moments of direct perception and genuine encounters that often take a back seat in everyday life.
Joelma has released several albums to date, including Passos, Tertúlia do Catolé and De nós dois, as well as various literary works. Her musical works have been presented on television and the radio, including the renowned Brazilian broadcast Solano Ribeiro e a nova música do Brasil. Her EP Joelma Marques canta Tom Jobim, which was authorised by the Instituto Antônio Carlos Jobim, also attracted particular attention.
Joelma will be accompanied by Fabrício Cavalcante (guitar), Ali Fischer (piano/accordion), Jasmin Gundermann (flute/sax) and Borel de Sousa (percussion).
