In classical concerts, we’re used to having to sit quietly in our seat and not being allowed to applaud between pieces, let alone leave the room. These rules do not apply at a relaxed performance: What matters here are the needs of the audience and a relaxed atmosphere.

Violist Caroline Spengler and cellist Mona Ernst use melodies from Johann Sebastian Bach and other eras to confront their own anxieties instead of fearing them. The Duo Arima does not sit in front of the audience, but right in the middle of it. And the audience also experiences the sound and the accompanying video projections from very different perspectives.

The realisation dawns that we all have fear. But facing our fear together helps us get to know it. And to ultimately realise that you are not alone with your fear. An extraordinary concert that literally wants to be experienced.
